A man's fighting for his life after being shot in a daylight attack in Carrickfergus.
It's believed to have happened near a local primary school in the Pinewood Avenue area of town this afternoon.
A large police presence is now at the scene following the incident.
The victim, aged in his 40's, has been taken to hospital with 'life threatening' injuries.
The incident may be linked to ongoing loyalist tensions in the Co.Antrim town.
The PSNI has been forced to increase patrols in the area in recent months because of an ongoing feud.
