It finished 2-2 between Carrick Rangers and Ballinamallard in Friday night's Danske Bank Premiership basement battle.

James McKenna put the Fermanagh team in front, Carrick hit back with goals from Michael Smith and Denver Gage but Josh McIlwaine grabbed a late equaliser.

The Mallards stay five points behind their relegation rivals following the feisty affair.

Both managers David McAlinden and Gavin Dykes were sent off after a fracas as the players left the pitch at half-time...


Carrick have boosted their bid to beat the drop with a double signing - McAlinden has brought in League of Ireland defender Damien McNulty as well as Northern Ireland under-19 international striker Brendan Glackin.

The action resumes on Saturday afternoon with league leaders Coleraine away to Cliftonville while second-placed Crusaders face Linfield at Windsor Park.

Glentoran go to Dungannon Swifts, Ballymena host Glenavon and Warrenpoint welcome Ards.
