Ireland will find out this afternoon whether it will host the 2023 Rugby World Cup.

South Africa have already been tipped as favorites, with France also in the running.

Last week, the Irish Rugby Football Union promised to fight for the bid until the last minute despite having smaller, and uncompleted circumstances.

The announcement will be made in London shortly after lunchtime.

If the Irish bid is successful a number of major stadiums would be used including Dublin's Croke Park and Kingspan Stadium in Belfast.

Celtic Park in Derry-Londonderry and Casement Park in Belfast would need to complete redevelopments before the tournament.

IRFU officials drafted help from top performers, sport stars, politicians and Actors to support the bid, including a promotional video from Liam Neeson.
