A remarkable £50,000 has been raised for Cancer Research UK at a recent Gala held on 22nd March at Titanic Belfast by Business Beats Cancer Belfast. The event, which saw overwhelming support from the local business community, sponsors, and attendees, will provide crucial funding to support cancer research projects here in NI.
Business Beats Cancer Belfast Board Chair, Carley Shields, expressed their gratitude, saying:
"We are absolutely thrilled to have raised £50,000 for Cancer Research UK. This incredible achievement is a testament to the generosity of our supporters and the hard work of everyone involved. Every pound raised will make a real difference, and we couldn’t have done it without the dedication of our team, the backing of our event supporters, and the enthusiasm of our business community. Thank you to everyone who contributed!"
The event was proudly supported by IntoMedia Group who helped amplify awareness and encourage donations. Sinead Cavanagh, Deputy CEO at IntoMedia commented:
“We are proud to support Business Beats Cancer Belfast in raising an outstanding £50,000 for Cancer Research UK. This event is a testament to the strength of our local business community and the impact we can make when we come together for a vital cause. As a company, we are committed to using our platforms to raise awareness for important causes making a difference.”
The funds raised will directly support Cancer Research projects here in NI, a number of which are taking place in the Patrick G Johnston Centre at Queens University Belfast.
Lisa Bailey, Relationship Manager at Cancer Research UK shared their appreciation:
"This incredible donation will have a real impact on our ability to fund leading cancer research projects right here in NI. With six unique trials in place at the Patrick G Johnston Centre for Cancer and, co-funding the adult experimental cancer medicine centre, this allows discoveries to be fast tracked into clinical treatments. This will directly impact our mission of creating a world where everybody can lead longer, better lives, free from the fear of cancer."
