Anger raised over cockfight planned for Irvinestown festival

There's plans to hold cockfighting at this years Lady of the Lake Festival in Irvinestown, despite the bloodsport being banned for almost 200 years. 

Animals rights organisations have raised issues over these plans and want it to be stopped.

Q Radio spoke to Colleen Dowdall, the USPCA's development manager. 

She says it's absolute cruelty that they're holding cockfights in 2017: 

 

Colleen is also hoping that people boycott this festival if it is to go ahead with the cruel sporting event. 

She's also calling for organisations to come together and show support:
