A Belfast based academic has been awarded the Freedom of the City of Liverpool after years of hard work.
Phil Scraton has been awarded the accolade for his role in exonerating the victims of the Hillsborough disaster.
The 96 victims who were crushed to death at the football match in Sheffield in 1989 were also posthumously awarded last night.
The professor led an Independent Panel and provided legal advice which helped determine the victims involved in the disaster were unlawfully killed.
