Billy Caldwell has been discharged from hospital and is back at his Los Angeles home.
Last week, the Castlederg boy suffered a series of seizures which left him in a critical condition. He had to be placed in an induced coma.
Billy is battling life threatening epilepsy.
His mum has called this latest episode ‘his toughest fight yet.’
“I have experienced a varied array of emotions, conflicting emotions have pulled at my heart in so many different directions,” she writes.
“My only wish was to wave a magic wand to instantly heal my wee Epilepsy Warrior’s tiny body or even to take his place to free him from this brutal condition.
“I have so much missed his cheeky smile, sparkling eyes looking up at me, his wee boisterous ways and his usual bounding of energy keeping me on my toes constantly.”
She continues: “I would not wish this on any parent.”
Writing on Facebook, mum Charlotte thanks everyone for the ‘hundreds of beautiful messages, prayers and all the candles lit for Billy all over the world.’
“From the bottom of my heart indebted to you all forever more,” she adds.
The family has also issued an urgent appeal to the public as medical bills are rising.
