Vote on "Business Improvement District" for the town currently taking place among local traders and businesses.

Businesses in Enniskillen are currently voting on whether or not the town should become a "Business Improvement District"

The scheme would see local enterprises work collectively to make the improvements they want for their trading area.

Essentially, businesses decide what additional improvements they want for their area, they also manage and deliver those improvements as well as deciding how much their willing to pay for them.

Noelle McAloon, the project's co-ordinator says "BID" is about businesses "coming together in an area and saying, 'our town is good - but let's make it better'".

Over 500 local ventures are currently voting on whether or not to approve the project, which would see each of them paying a levy to a "BID company" that would oversee the rolling out of the initiative.

Ballot papers have already been distributed to businesses in the town - with postal voting opening on the 1st of September. People have until the 13th of October to cast their vote.
