Residents in the Omagh area are concerned with the way the police in the district have handled burglaries.

Since January there's been a rise in the number of break ins and attempted robberies within the community.

The issue was raised following an attempt to invade a property that was reported earlier this month. The incident was sighted in Killyclogher by neighbours in the area.

The police took 35 minutes to respond to the call and by this stage the perpetrators had already fled the scene and got away.

In response to this, the Omagh police service said they were stuck in traffic.

Although there's a slight spike in burglaries in the area - there's 251 less crimes across Fermanagh and Omagh compared to the previous financial year.

The Police are urging communities to take extra precaution to be safe and check all the small measures such as locking your door at night and when you're out of the house.
