There's been cross-community condemnation of an arson attack on a Newry Orange Hall.
It happened on Saturday evening just after 7:15pm.
Police received reports that tyres had been stacked behind the Altnaveigh Orange Hall and set alight.
The property suffered smoke damage inside, and damage to its eaves.
An Orange Order spokesman said local lodge members were “disgusted” by the attack on their property.
He added, "This is a truly sickening incident and one which clearly had a clear sectarian motive. The moronic hate-filled individuals responsible are a blight on the local community and ought to be ashamed of their actions.
"Such naked bigotry should not be acceptable... This is intolerable and must not be allowed to continue."
Police have issued an appeal for information.
