After this months Fermanagh and Omagh District Council (FODC) meeting, they've reassured any concerns that were raised about council funding as the political crisis continues at Stormont.

FODC Chief Executive, Brendan Hegarty stated that there's no need to panic about the situation.

He mentioned that the council's support grant has been paid as normal since the start of the year, even though there's been no executive since January.

However, he went on to say that the council internally reduced its budget for rate support grants for the year from £18.3 million to £15 million.

This means that there may be a reduction in the amount of money available in the future, which realistically could be over £280,000 for the FODC support grant.

Fortunately, Mr Hegarty said the council has taken precautionary measures incase the event arises.

A contingency fund has been taken from their budget of £150,000 to support them.
