Last month Galantas Gold Coporation had put its plans for Omagh gold mine on hold.
They were unable to secure the necessary anti-terrorism cover from the PSNI for its blasting operations at the Omagh Gold Mine.
The group has now confirmed that it had reached a "short-term accomodation" with the PSNI to provide cover for blasting operations at the mine three days a wee, two hours a day.
In a statement Galantas said:
"Whilst insufficient to sustain the development or operation of the Omagh Gold Mine on more than a short-term basis, it will form the basis for the PSNI and the company to review matters after a period of operation."
The company hopes to begin underground mine operations shortly.
Last month the company had warned that jobs could be at risk because of the PSNI's previous stance.
However, in light of the new agreement they said they're in a position to retain some of its existing employees.
“The current investment programme is being cautiously reopened pending a review of available PSNI cover after a period of operation.”
