A man who was at the centre of a massive fundraising campaign for pioneering brain tumour treatment has passed away.
Kevin Carey's wife posted on Facebook this morning :"My beautiful gladiator has been set free.
"Kevin fought the most courage fight to the end, and won, he kept his gorgeous sweet personality and will be forever young."
Mr.Carey was first diagnosed with the rare cancer after a trip to Portstewart in July 2015, where he fell ill.
More than £200,000 was raised as part of a massive fundraising appeal for pioneering treatment in London.

IMAGE Kevin Carey had been reported to be recovering well before last weeks news.
Treatment started last August but it was announced in the past few days it had 'suddenly stopped working'.
A post on a fundraising page said the tumour had returned and "there was nothing that could stop it this time".
In a heartfelt post this morning Kevin's wife finished by saying "There are no words. My everything
