The council's tourism director has responded to concerns raised about plans for miles of greenways here.
Landowners believe the routes may impact on farming activity.
The council was awarded a £32,000 grant to begin feasibility studies for four greenways between Downpatrick and Carlingford Lough.
It hopes to transform disused railways and old canals into safe paths for cyclists, walkers and runners.
