A local man has penned a heartfelt open letter to the young men of Derry-Londonderry.
Jamie Harkin wrote the post on Facebook discussing his own struggles with Cancer and depression. He has called on young men to talk to someone and solutions 'don't lie at the bottom of a bottle'.
"I’ve been in some pretty dark places, and I know how patronising it sounds, but once you do talk to someone, you will feel better for it, I swear," says Jamie "even if you want to talk to me, by all means, my inbox is open to everyone."
Jamie also questions the lack of mental health care in the area.
He asks "How many people is the Foyle going to take before the city gets proper, proportional facilities? Is it going to take for it to be an MP’s son or daughter, or brother or sister?".
The Facebook post has been shared thousands of times.
