Irish MEP Mairead McGuinness is Ireland’s new European Commissioner, it has been announced,
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen made the announcement to fill the vacancy created by Phil Hogan, who resigned after controversy over his attendance at Oireachtas Golf Society dinner.
