Detectives from PSNI Legacy Investigation Branch, investigating the murder of police officer Michael Ferguson, have today arrested a man in Derry/Londonderry as part of their ongoing enquiries into the killing.
A 64 man has been arrested under the Terrorism Act and taken to the Serious Crime Suite at Musgrave Police Station for questioning.
Constable Ferguson, who was 21 and from Omagh, was shot dead whilst on duty in Shipquay Street in Derry/Londonderry at around 2pm on Saturday 23 January 1993.
Detectives continue to investigate his murder and will explore all possible lines of enquiry to identify the perpetrators.
