A number of men forced their way into the home on Clonavon Road on Saturday 7th October in what's being treated as a racially motivated hate crime.
The 44-year-old suspect was arrested around the Larne Road this morning.
In a statement the PSNI said: "Detectives in Ballymena have charged a 44 year old man with aggravated burglary and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
"He is expected to appear before Ballymena Magistrates Court on Thursday 23 November.
"As is normal procedure all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service."
