A man has been stabbed in the leg and head and a female has been punched in the face, during an attempted robbery in Belfast.
It happened shortly before 1.30am on the Ormeau Road.
The pair were walking in the area when they were approached by two men wearing dark clothing and asked for cigarettes and money.
When told they didn't have any, the men attacked them.
Both the man and woman have been taken to hospital and treated for their injuries.
Police say the offenders made off from the scene empty handed but it's unclear what direction they went.
