A suspicious object found in Newtownabbey overnight has turned out to be a hoax.
Homes were evacuated as the bomb squad was called to the Derrycoole Way area of the town last night.
People were temporarily put up at the Valley Leisure Centre.
After Army Technical Officers looked over the item it was removed and residents were allowed to return to their properties.
The security alert in the Derrycoole Way area of Newtownabbey has ended. Following an examination by ATO, a suspicious object was declared a hoax. Residents have been allowed to return to their homes.
