Local GPs and health workers got the opportunity to tour the site.

Progress is well under way at the site of the Omagh Hospital and Primary care complex which is due to open in Spring of this year.

GPs, Practice Managers and staff members of the local Health Centre were welcomed by the Western Trust, to receive a tour of the facilities that will be available to the people of Omagh and its surrounding districts.

The £105 million investment will provide an array of services, including a 24 place renal dialysis unit, an Urgent Care and Treatment Centre and a Health and Care Centre that will have modern GP practices - all under one roof.

The hospital will now be able to host rehabilitaion and Palliative Care patients by adding 40 single en-suite bedrooms for those in need of the services.

There will be advanced diagnostic services, 3 day surgery operating theatres and 22 recovery beds, along with more specialised services to suit different needs.

The capital project is continuing to move forward and should be open for Spring as mentioned.

With new modern facilities and departments, it should be able to provide first class health care and assistance for those in the town of Omagh and surrounding areas.
