Breifne Earley, an Irish world cycling champion will launch his book, 'Pedal the Planet', in Omagh later tonight.
An Irish world cycling champion says a bucket list he made while at his lowest ebb, saved his life.
Breifne Earley was speaking before signing his book 'Pedal the Planet' in Omagh later.
The book addresses his journey from the brink, his battle with mental health issues - and ultimately, skirting with suicide.
It's an issue that Breifne says, is NOT spoken about enough across the island of Ireland.
"There's no shame in it, there's absolutely no reason why you can't talk about it," he said.
"It doesn't make you any less of a person, the stigma that surrounds it in our society - we need to battle that - and we need to make sure that we make it ok to talk about our mental health," he added.
Originally from County Leitrim, Breifne is currently completing a 32 county cycle challenge in 32 days.
He's due to launch the book in Fermanagh tomorrow.
