Polish artist on day 4 of 200 mile run along borders

Aleks Stanek, a polish visual artist is currently completing a new art project that involves a 200 mile run retracing the Northern Ireland border.

Along the way, Aleks will repeatedly exit and enter Northern Ireland, heading in to the Republic of Ireland.

Throughout this journey, she will be burying the rubble of Belfast brick and ash tree seeds at unmarked intersections to create monuments.

By doing so, Alek's is not only adding to her work as a visual artist; she is highlighting the impact of borders here.

Alek's has also recieved backing from local MLA's and the MP here in West Tyrone.

They have taken to social media to show their support:

Alek's is currently on day 4 of her journey and will be leaving Enniskillen today.

She'll be crossing the border from Fermanagh to Monaghan before finishing in Clones for the day.
