This year’s Seamus Heaney award for New Writing has gone to Portadown man Glen Wilson.
The award for his poem The Lotus Gait was presented at The Seamus Heaney HomePlace in Bellaghy.
It was handed over at the launch of Matter, the Community Arts Partnership's latest annual anthology of poetry.
It features a collection of poetry from poets across Northern Ireland.
Community Arts Partnership chief executive Conor Shields says Glen’s poem exemplifies both the lyrical elegance and depth of craft being produced locally.
“Glen, like Stephanie Conn and Marilyn McLaughlin before him, will undoubtedly experience the advancement that such an award provides,” he added.
