Police in Fermanagh and Omagh are planning on introducing cannabis "scratch and sniff" cards to promote drug awareness.
It was revealed after they seized a small bag of cannabis from a car in the district.
A PSNI spokesperson said:
"Even this small amount of herbal cannabis had a pungent enough smell to stink out a car and prompt us to conduct a search."
Cards will be circulated among parents, guardians and community groups so that they will be aware of the smell of the drug.
Police said that many people still do not recognise its distinctive smell.
As well as distributing the cards, a number of drug awareness meetings will also be taking place for parents, guardians and community groups over the next few months.
