The local electoral landscape faces a shake-up as proposals currently stand.

A public hearing into proposed parliamentary boundary changes is to take place in Omagh later this morning.

It's the second of four to take place across Northern Ireland, and is set to run for most of the day.

It's designed to allow members of the public and interested parties to make representations in person on the review of electoral boundaries for parliamentary constituencies.

Under the proposals, a new electoral constituency known as North Tyrone would be established.

A number of traditionally Tyrone electoral wards would also switch to a new-look Fermanagh and South Tyrone constituency.

Registration for the event runs from 9:30AM, at the town's Silverbirch Hotel.
