Ryanair have confirmed that they are to "slightly reduce their Derry to London Stansted service this winter." The budget airline say that it is part of a plan to increase the growth of their E.U. airports.
They added that they will cut the frequency of many routes in to Londond Stansted.
However a company spokesperson did say that they were already ahead of their traffic growth targets.
MLA Mark Durkan said their decision was "part of the toxic fallout from the EU referendum".
The SDLP member added that it was a "bleak omen of what is to come for the North".
Mr Durkan pointed out that Ryanair's decision comes only months after announcing new routes out of Belfast.
