SDLP Councillor John Boyle has been selected to take over as Derry City and Strabane District Council's next Mayor.
He'll replace Sinn Féin's Maolíosa McHugh when the current term ends in June.
Under the council's power sharing arrangement it's the SDLP's turn to select the First Citizen.
Councillor Boyle is the current Deputy Mayor and was first elected seven years ago.
He's told Q Radio he's delighted to have been chosen and vowed to work hard for the region:
