A security alert has been declared a hoax in Belfast.
The suspicious object was discovered outside a house in the Malvern Close area at around 3.30am this morning.
Residents who were evacuated from their properties have now returned and the device has been taken away for forensic examination.
Inspector McCullough said: “Shortly after 3:30am, it was reported that an object was located at the front of a house in the area. Officers attended and the object, which has been declared as a hoax has been taken away for further forensic examination.

"A number of homes were evacuated during the incident and police would like to thank the local community for their understanding as officers carried out a public safety operation.
“Enquiries are continuing to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident and we would appeal to anyone with any information in relation to the incident is asked to contact police on 101, quoting reference number 294 29/05/21."
