Police in Strabane are investigating the report of a suspicious fire at a house in Newtownstewart.
Officers say the incident happened at around on Tuesday the 25th of October in the Deerpark Road area of the village.
The window of a garage was smashed and flammable liquid poured in before being deliberately set alight, according to the PSNI.
“It was reported that at approximately 10.00am on Tuesday 25th October, the window of a garage was smashed at a residential premises in the Deerpark Road area of Newtownstewart. It is believed that a flammable liquid was poured into the garage and deliberately set alight," a PSNI statement read.
Police are now appealing for information in light of the incident late last month.
"We are appealing to anyone that may have any information regarding this incident or may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the area to contact Strabane Reactive and Organised Crime Branch on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 358 on 25/10/16. Or, alternatively if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111," the statement added.
