Two men have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a man was beaten with a hammer in Newry.
It happened in the Cleary Crescent area during the early hours of this morning.
The 26 year old victim is recieving treatment in hospital.
Two suspects aged 17 and 29 remain in police custody.
Detective Sergeant Connor said: “Anyone with information or who may have witnessed the males leaving the area at around 12.20 is asked to contact police on 101, quoting reference 21 29/05/19.”
