Two men were arrested after a man was injured during an aggravated burglary at his home in Derry - Londonderry.
The 25 year old man suffered a head injury in the incident in the Glenabbey Street area of the city.
At around 5.40am on Monday 14th November two men entered the property and assaulted the occupant.
The pair are thought to have made off towards Skeoge roundabout in a dark coloured car.
Detective Sergeant Brian Reid said:
“Detectives investigating this incident later carried out a search at premises in the Ardnamoyle Park area and have seized a car for further examination while the two men, aged 26 and 23, were arrested in the Carnhill area shortly before 11am.
Both men have been arrested on suspicion of gbh with intent, aggravated burglary and possession of an offensive weapon and currently remain in custody assisting police with their enquiries.
“While we have the two arrests, I would still appeal to anyone who knows anything about this incident to contact detectives at Strand Road Police Station on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 140 of 14/11/16.
