The Western Health and Social Care Trust has confirmed it's recalled 37 cardiology patients after two people raised concerns earlier this year.
Those effected are in the Fermanagh area and have been diagnosed with Aortic Stenosis - the most common type of heart valve disease in the elderly.
The trust says it's unlikely patients will need any change in their treatment, but that the recall is a precautionary measure.
A spokesperson for the trust said "These patients have been contacted by telephone or letter on 6 and 7 June and have been offered a review appointment with Cardiology staff at South West Acute Hospital, Enniskillen."
Any patients who have concerns, or, want further information before their review appointment, can speak to a Cardiology Nurse.
The helpline (028) 7129 6200 is available between 9am and 4pm, Monday to Friday.
Sinn Féin MLA Colm Gildernew said: “These reviews need to be carried out as quickly as possible and the Trust need to communicate in a full and transparent manner with the patients and their families.
“The well-being of patients must be the primary focus in the days ahead and the circumstances surrounding the recall must be thoroughly investigated and communicated to the public.”
