A woman has been left badly shaken after being followed and grabbed by an unknown man in East Belfast.
Police say the suspect followed the woman, aged in her 20s, as she walked from the Ormeau Road area before 2am on Monday 4th October.
When they reached Mount Merrion Gardens the man reportedly attempted to grab the woman by the arm but when she screamed he let go and made off in the direction of Mount Merrion Avenue.
The woman was not physically injured as a result of the incident but was left badly shaken. The man was described as being over 30 years old and was wearing a blue coat and blue jeans.
inspector Anderson said, “A number of lines of enquiry are being followed at this time and I would ask anyone who noticed a male matching this description in the area at the time of the incident or who has dash-cam footage from the area to contact police at Musgrave on 101 quoting reference number 143 04/21.
