Mickey Harte has received a 3-year extension from the Tyrone County Board

By Richard O'Reilly

Tyrone boss Mickey Harte has received the backing of the Tyrone County Committee with a new three year contract.

Harte, the longest serving manager in Gaelic football, will stay in charge of the Red Hands untill 2020

Harte took Tyrone to the All-Ireland semi finals this year, only to suffer a convincing defeat at the hands of reigning champions Dublin.

His new contract ends the growing speculation around his future which ensued following that defeat.

Harte has won three All-Ireland titles as Tyrone boss, the first coming in his debut season in 2003.

He added the other two titles in 2005 and 2008.
