Coleraine have agonisingly missed out on a famous away win in the Europa League qualifiers.

It finished 1-1 with Spartak Subotica on Thursday night - the Serbian side equalising with a penalty six minutes into added time.

Darren McCauley had given the Bannsiders the lead in the first half.

Derry City suffered a 2-0 defeat in their first round, first leg tie at home to Dinamo Minsk of Belarus.

Cliftonville went down 1-0 at Solitude against Danish side Nordsjælland.

Reds manager Barry Gray praised his players - and also the Bannsiders and Glenavon, who beat Molde the previous night. 

He said this week's Europa League matches prove Irish League teams can compete at this level.

And the former Warrenpoint Town boss is now looking forward to the second leg in Denmark next Thursday...
