'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!' co-hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly have warned the Welsh spiders in the show's new camp are "bigger" than the ones in Australia.

The pair have been able to have a sneak peek at the show's new site at Gwrych Castle - where the series is set this year, because of coronavirus pandemic restrictions - and they have spotted some huge creepy crawlies.

Dec said: “Some of the spiders here are bigger than ones in Australia - that’s all I’m saying.”

The year's crop of celebrities - who include Shane Richie and Sir Mo Farah - will have to camp out in the castle in the harsh Welsh winter, rather than in the warmer Australian climes.

But the producers will not be taking it easy on the campmates due to the wintery conditions, as they have a whole host of tough trials planned.

Ant said: “Don’t worry, they’re not easing back on the trials. They’ll still be as horrific as they normally are.”

Dec added to TV Times magazine: “We’re very curious to see how they get on in a cold environment rather than a hot one.”

It has also been reported that various venues close to the castle have been revamped for Bushtucker Trials, including the Snowdonia zip wire, and producers are said to have constructed a prison among the castle ruins.

However, the celebrities will not just be kept company by giant spiders, as it has also been claimed the castle is haunted.

The Countess’s Towers is said to have been the centre of paranormal activity and haunted by the Countess of Dundonald, who died in 1924.

She is said to be angry that her husband stripped the castle of valuables.
