A man has been left badly shaken after being dragged from his car in an attempted vehicle hijacking in Downpatrick.
He was travelling in his red Vauxhall Corsa on the Annacloy Road, to the junction of the A7 Belfast Road, when a blue 4x4 vehicle stopped infront.
It happened at around 7.30pm on Tuesday 10th March.
Two men got out of the 4x4, grabbed the driver from the Corsa and attempted to drive off.
The man then pulled the assailant from the car, before the pair headed off towards Downpatrick.
No-one was injured during the incident.
Detective Constable Slevin said: “The male who attempted to drive the vehicle off is described as being aged in his mid-20’s, medium build and wearing a navy blue tracksuit and a baseball cap.
“Enquiries are continuing and we are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have seen a blue 4x4 vehicle travelling along the Annacloy Road area of Downpatrick, to contact detectives on 101 quoting reference number 387 11/03/20.
"Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime.”
