Police were conducting a search of a property with regards to Burglary in Newry yesterday.
A spokesperson for the PSNI said:
"Whilst there a gold coloured pocket watch was located on waste ground directly across from the house.
"We would like to identify an owner for this item and find out if it has been stolen at some point recently.
"The parts of the watch have been broken but it may still be of sentimental value to someone and we can’t believe someone would have thrown it out.
"The watch dates to around 1910 – 1912 and the rear case is very distinctive
"If you recognise this watch or believe you own it please contact Detectives by phoning 101 and ask for the CID office in Newry."
