Linfield can close the gap on Danske Bank Premiership leaders Crusaders to four points with a home win today against Ards.

But the North Down side is managed by a man with extensive experience of taking on the Blues - ex-Glentoran star, Colin Nixon.

Blues midfielder Stephen Lowry says they need to win to stay in the hunt for the title.

Ards are eighth in the table, just three points off the final European play-off place.

French striker Guillaume Keke says they have every chance of taking it.

Ahead of their Irish Cup semi-final next month, Glenavon and Coleraine are set for a showdown in the Premiership this afternoon.

They meet at Moureview Park. Here's Glenavon winger Joel Cooper.

Cliftonville boss Gerard Lyttle is calling for a huge effort from his players to get their push for Europe back on track.

The third-placed Reds lost at Linfield on Monday night and are now just one point ahead of a resurgent Coleraine.

Lyttle wants a big improvement as they head to Dungannon this afternoon.

But with the Swifts sitting seventh, their boss Rodney McAree also has European aspirations.

Also today, Ballymena face Glentoran at the Showgrounds and the bottom two meet with Carrick hosting Portadown.

A defeat for the Ports would leave them 14 points adrift with just six matches left to play.

All five games today in the penultimate round of fixtures before the split kick-off at 3pm.

Crusaders are at home to Ballinamallard in the live Sky match on Monday.
