An 18-year-old man has been arrested after a PSNI vehicle was rammed on a motorway in County Antrim.
It happened on the M22 on Saturday 25th April.
The suspect was detained in the Dungiven area during the early hours of this morning on suspicion of a number of motoring offences.
He remains in police custody at this time.
During the incident, police say one of its Road Policing and Safety patrol signalled a BMW car to stop for travelling at excess speed, however, it drove off resulting in PSNI officers pursuing the vehicle.
The vehicle in question continued to evade police before ramming its car, forcing it off the carriageway.
The BMW was found abandoned in a layby on the Moneynick Road and the driver is believed to have made off on foot.
Meanwhile, a PSNI officer was treated in hospital following the incident for extensive whiplash injuries.
Officers continue to appeal to anyone who witnessed the incident or who captured footage of the incident to contact police on 101, quoting reference 1486 25/04/20.
