50 jobs for Newry with Rural Development cash boost

Mourne Gullion and Lecale chair Nicholas McCrickard is joined by, Gillian Fitzpatrick, Newry, Mourne and Down District council chair, DAERA representatives, and Local Action Group members and successful applicants.

The Rural Development Fund is to give nineteen businesses across the Newry, Mourne and Down district a share of £620,000

The cash boost will create more than 50 jobs here, and is being welcomed as a great boost to local economy.

Chair of Mourne Gullion Lecale Nicholas McCrickard is advising future applicants to attend the compulsory pre-application workshop sessions.

They're being held from tomorrow for a week.

The first two sessions will take place at the Kilmorey Arms Hotel. All sessions run from 10am-12pm or 7pm-9pm:

* 5th June - Downpatrick, council offices
* 6th June - Hilltown, Downshire Arms
* 7th June - Castlewellan, The Lodge
* 8th June - Mallaghbane, Tí Chulainn
