Jobs and investment are coming to Newry following an announcement of a cash boost for a leading food-to-go firm.

Around Noon has secured a growth loan from WhiteRock Capital Partners of £750,000.

The Newry-based fast-growing company employs over 300 staff and recently took over Chef in a Box to boost its UK reach.

The cash will be used to develop the London acquisition and improve IT systems and infrastructure.

CEO Gareth Chambers said, "The business started from humble beginnings with a focus on producing high quality packed sandwiches. We have grown rapidly in the last three years and our product offering now includes sandwiches, wraps, salads and fruit pots under the ‘Scribbles’ brand as well as cold pressed juices and bakery courtesy of our new bakery, ‘Sweet Things’."

He added, "Consumers are increasingly looking for healthier on-the-go alternatives and Gareth has identified a very lucrative market to diversify the company’s product offering. There are exciting times ahead for the business as it continues to build towards its five year strategy."
