Arrivals from amber-list countries no longer need to quarantine

From today, anyone arriving into Northern Ireland from amber-listed EU countries or America doesn't need to quarantine - if they've had both coronavirus vaccines.

But they will still need to be tested.

For those arriving from the United States, only those fully vaccinated with FDA-approved vaccines, who can present a CDC card as proof of vaccination, are included.

On Saturday, international cruises were given the go-ahead, with strong guidance given to ships to manage risks (including use of vaccination and testing).

Cruise operators will also have to show clear contingency plans and continued monitoring of passenger data.

Measures will be put in place to facilitate alternative managed isolation arrangements for international student arrivals from red list countries from 9 August.

Also from today,, a bespoke testing regime will be implemented, which will apply to NI international arrivals exempt from self-isolation because they are travelling for work. 

And there is currently an exemption from self-isolation for Villarreal fans and UEFA VIPs travelling for the Super Cup Final on 11 August.
