The Former Newtownabbey High School has been as good as destroyed in an arson attack.
The PSNI were called to the site on Rathcoole Drive yesterday afternoon.
Local Councillor, John Scott has told Q Radio News it's a "real shock" to the community and that it's "so so sad to see what has happened to it".
There had been plans to develop the buildings into something that could benefit the whole area.
Councillor Scott said: "we had a draft drew up for it... for a health centre, community centre, maybe senior citizen housing - just to develop the whole site but I don't know where this is going to leave us now".
