China's richest chicken farmer, New Hope, has been linked to a one billion pound takeover of Moy Park.
The Dungannon-based company is owned by Brazil-based meat processor JBS.
Citing unnamed sources, The Daily Telegraph on Saturday reported New Hope was the frontrunner.
The company was put up for sale by JBS in June.
JBS bought Moy Park from Brazilian meat giant Marfrig two years ago.
