Concerns raised over Newry on-street parking price rise

Newry's drivers are facing a large planned rise in parking charges.

From next month the cost of on-street parking in the city goes up from 40p to 60p per hour.

Infrastructure Minister Chris Hazzard said Newry's parking tariffs hadn't increased since 2009.

Newry Chamber of Commerce Chief Executive Mary Meehan lead a delegation to meet him on Friday.

And she told yesterday's Q Café the planned 50% car parking charge rise was unfair:
