Councillor condemns weekend violence in Coleraine

Two men are recovering after separate weekend assaults in Coleraine.

A man out checking under his car bonnet at Brook Street was stabbed early Saturday morning.

One of two men who approached and demanded money, attacked him when he refused. 

The first man is  medium build with short dark hair, wearing tracksuit bottoms and a zip up hoodie. 

The second suspect was heavy built and wore blue jeans and a red football top.

Meanwhile a man was beaten by up to eight men armed with metal bars and bats.

in Coleraine's Heights early yesterday.

A 30-year-old man questioned about that second attack has been bailed.
