Covid-19: Two deaths, 3,837 new cases

Two more people have died in the past 24 hours after previously testing positive for Covid-19.

A further 3,837 new cases have been diagnosed.

There are 379 patients in hospital with Covid and 14 of them are in ICU.

Eleven of those 14 people are being ventilated.

Ten hospitals are operating over capacity.

The death toll stands at 3,138.

There are outbreaks in 175 care homes and in the past seven days the highest percentage of new cases has been among 10-14 year olds.

Meanwhile, according to the Office for National Statistics infections continue to rise here, from one in 15 people to one in 13 which is the highest since records began.
