The Infrastructure Minister's confirmed construction of Narrow Water Bridge could begin in 2019.

Chris Hazzard says it's subject to community engagement and statutory procedures.

The bridge will connect Warrenpoint with Louth once completed.

It's been shovel-ready for years but repeatedly shelved amid budgeting blunders.

The minister says a meeting with stakeholders will be held to determine the best solution for the cross-border project.

Chris Hazzard also announced that officials have been instructed to progress planning and development work on the Newry Southern Relief Road to allow the introduction of the Statutory Orders by 2019.
